Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream Review

Hello all!

Today I am going to talk about one of my most coveted items I got recently. I suffer from very dark circles that I believe are hereditary. No matter how much sleep I get, I look like a zombie who got punched in the under-eye area. (That is assuming zombies get punched and don't have that look naturally). For months I scavenged the concealer world trying to find something that would make me look bright eyed. Most concealers I tried didn't have enough coverage, and so often I overcompensated and put too much on and it would crease midday. But not anymore!

My longtime favorite corrector was Bobbi Brown corrector in Light Bisque. I have repurchased it many times but while it felt creamy in the pot, I always felt like I had to tug to blend it under my undereyes. The concealer I am going to talk about has replaced the Bobbi Brown Corrector in my heart and is less painful on the wallet!

The Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream is a pale peachy toned concealer. There are two shades #1 and #2. I am in shade #1. I purchased this off of an eBay seller for $8.99 shipped which is a less expensive than the Bobbi Brown corrector which is $24.00. I recieved it 11 days after my order which is pretty fast as it shipped from Korea.

The packaging on this is beautiful. It is a plastic jar with a screw top lid. It feels sturdy without being too heavy. You get 10 grams of product in the Skinfood concealer versus Bobbi Brown which only has 1.4 grams of product. I also find the Skinfood to be more peachy, almost yellow, compared to the Bobbi Brown which is definitely more pink. Sorry in advance, as I used it before I remembered to take an open picture.

This product is creamy, but not so creamy that it just slides about. It has a faint scent, but not of fish. It covers my dark circles well. It does not cover all of my dark circles (No concealer does!) but it does cover a lot of the darkness. I do find it looks a little shiny, almost greasy in pictures if you do not set it with a powder.

Me with no concealer. As you can see, I have milia and dark circles

Pros:

  • Lots of products (10 grams!)
  • Economical ($8.99 shipped from dwspower2011 on eBay)
  • Creamy (You do not have to tug at all!)
  • Covers undereye circles very well
Cons:
  • Packaging is not hygienic
  • Has a faint scent
  • Only two shades
  • Need to use a second concealer on top to cover dark circles
All in all, this is a great product and if you suffer from dark circles I really recommend it. It covers well and is creamy. For $8.99 shipped it is worth trying!
